Dear Vinny,

I’m excited to embark on a journey into organic farming and am currently looking for some land to purchase for my new venture. However, I want to ensure that I fully understand the certifications and regulations involved in marketing my products as organic. Could you share your insights on what specific requirements I should be aware of? I’m also curious if obtaining these certifications could have any impact on the land’s overall value. Dear Organic,

There is a wealth of information available online regarding the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Organic certification process. I recommend visiting your local USDA office to discuss their specific requirements for certification. Regarding land values, in my experience, organic certifications typically do not impact land values significantly, as these certifications can be revoked as easily as they are obtained.
